The BMW X1 was released in Europe back in 2009, but BMW held off on bringing it here, until now. With gas prices on the rise and the U.S market begging for more downsized vehicles, the smallest member of the X series is here.

The X1 is just 4.5 inches smaller than the X3, which prior to the release of the X1 was the smallest BMW crossover on the market. Actually, when you see both on the street they look very similar. The X1s shape is generally the same as the European version but with little tweaks such as a more aggressive front fascia and bumpers. The design is sporty and features dual-circle headlights and LED running lights, which are optional in the Xenon light package. There will also be more paint color options available as well.

Inside the X1 it is as upscale as ever with the use of chrome and leather. The control display, headlight switch and side edging are all chrome. The air vents are a high-gloss black which also add to the overall look of luxury. Like most BMW cars, the latest iDrive infotainment system will be available and an array of advanced active safety features. There is also expected to be a built-in suite of airbags, electronic driver aids, and structural integrity to help it score well in crash testing.

There are two engine choices: a 240-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or a 300-horsepower 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder. The four cylinder option comes in rear-wheel drive X1 sDrive28i models or all-wheel drive X1 xDrive28i models. While the six-cylinder only comes in an all-wheel drive, X1 xDrive35i. An eight-speed automatic transmission, automatic stop-start, and brake energy regeneration come standard on all X1s and are part of BMWs EfficentDynamics range of technologies. There is also no availability of a manual transmission for either engine. The intelligent all-wheel-drive varies the distribution on the front and rear wheels effortlessly. This ensures that no matter what type of weather or road conditions the power distribution will enable optimum traction and stability.

The 2013 BMW X1 will be available at BMW dealers as early as September 2012.

The BMW Lifestyle Product line allows BMW owners to experience the ultimate driving experience in a whole new way.
In the “Apparel” category you can find multiple styles of shirts, jackets, polos, sport tanks, and outerwear for kids, ladies, and men. This breathable, wind and water-resistant jacket has a special BMW zip pull and comes in every size from small to XX-large. In the kids section, you can find items for both girls and boys and at a reasonable price. The BMW Kids’ JOY Tee that is featured is only $28.00. The ladies apparel is said to “ensure your outfit is as stylish as your vehicle”, and has everything from workout wear to weekend getaway attire.

The “For Him” category also features a BMW M Carbon Racer Bike, as well as everything from watches to golf and travel accessories. One new item just added is the BMW M3 Halo T-Shirt that has a space gray M3 with illuminated corona rings and the BMW logo on the left sleeve.

The next section is “For Kids”, where you can find multiple pedal cars such as the BMW 328 Roadster Pedal Car. The classically-designed pedal car is equipped with specialized rubber tires and is suitable for kids 3 to 5 years old. A perfect gift so that any kid can have a car just like mommy and daddy’s.

The last category is “Motorsport” where you can find an array of shirts, hats, and other fun items. It even includes a BMW Motorsport Teddy Bear complete with a racing suit and cap embellished with BMW M stripe detail, wordmark, and logo.

On top of the lifestyle products BMW offers an array of accessories for the interior, exterior, or general use of your vehicle, that are both practical and stylish.

The BMW M6 has come back from a two year hiatus, and is now more powerful, more efficient, and more luxurious than ever before. The new M6 is offered as either a 4-seat Coupe or Convertible and comes complete with the most powerful engine ever in a BMW M-Series.

Chapman BMW on Camelback General Manager Mat Dresp said, “This iconic model has represented the luxury and daily usability of a top range BMW combined with true super-car performance.”

Phoenix BMW drivers will love the amped-up, twin-turbocharged, direct-inject 4.4-liter, V-8 engine. The peak turbo boost of 21.7 psi helps create the 560-horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, which is 10 percent more horsepower and 30 percent more efficient than past engine models. The engine provides an effective balance of performance and fuel efficiency while still holding its characteristic immediate throttle response and an amazingly high and flat torque curve. These numbers ultimately result in a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds for the Coupe, with the Convertible taking a tenth of a second longer. Top speed is limited to 155 mph, but with purchase of the “Driver’s Pack” can be bumped up to 186 mph.

BMW M-Series comes equipped with its TwinPower Technology which includes Double VANOS1 infinitely-variable valve timing system which essentially allows the engine to run in an optimally efficient mode and generates high torque at low engine revs. This in conjunction with the Brake Energy Regeneration and the Auto Start-Stop function the M6 is delivered with an extra boost of efficiency.

The interior is also in line with Phoenix BMW’s reputation of luxury and convenience. The leather seats are heated and have driver memory and power adjustments. There is a two-zone automatic temperature control, Harman Kardon audio system, satellite and HD radio, iPod integration and keyless entry. The M6 also features iDrive interface which allows live traffic updates.

Chapman BMW on Camelback would love to have you take a new BMW M6 out for a test drive today!

Chapman BMW on Camelback offers Phoenix BMW customers the opportunity to test drive and purchase the sixth generation BMW 3 Series Sedan. Phoenix drivers will find that the vehicle will not only set a new standard for performance and handling but also for luxury, technology and efficiency as well.

Powerful styling and traditional BMW design cues make the 3 Series ready for the spotlight, and it’s on sale now at Chapman BMW.

“Most customers at our Phoenix BMW dealership are pleased with the debut of a powerful four-cylinder engine and the technological innovations that the new 3 Series boasts,” said Bob Colabianchi, General Sales Manager Chapman BMW.

Pricing and Features

The 2012 BMW 328i will be priced from $35,795 while the 2012 BMW 335i will be priced from $43,295. Both prices include $895 destination and handling. These represent a $320 and $370 base price increase over the outgoing models, however, in addition to the completely redesigned exterior and interior the new cars include a significantly higher level of standard equipment. This includes a 6.5-inch central display with iDrive controller, Bluetooth connectivity, USB/iPod interface, 8-Speed Automatic Transmission, Automatic Start/Stop, Dynamic Driving Control with ECO PRO Mode and Brake Energy Regeneration. Both models also feature larger wheels and tires as standard equipment.

Both the 328i Sedan with its TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine and the 335i, featuring BMW’s TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter inline six will be available in a trio of trim and equipment variants – the Sport Line, Luxury Line and Modern Line. Each presents its own individual take on the character of the sports sedan.

“With the announcement of the sixth generation BMW 3 Series Sedan, the benchmark by which all sport sedans are measured was raised once again,” said Colabianchi.

Engines and Transmissions

Drive and chassis technology have always been key areas of expertise for the brand, and agility and driving dynamics remain outstanding attributes of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan. The new car belies its larger dimensions with an equipment equalized curb weight 88 lb (40 kilograms) below that of its predecessor.

A choice of two muscular, refined and efficient engines – which both feature new BMW TwinPower Turbo technology – will be available for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan. In addition to the already successful 6-cylinder N55 engine powering the 335i, customers can also opt for the new turbocharged 4-cylinder (N20) variant in the BMW 328i. This latest-generation engine, initially introduced in the 2012 Z4 sDrive28i, rewards the driver with both a dynamic driving experience and significantly reduced fuel consumption.

The innovative 8-speed automatic gearbox – which is a first in the segment – opens up a whole new level of driving experience. It can be specified in combination with either the 328i or the 335i and includes the new Auto Start-Stop function. Compact and exceptionally efficient, it allows the new BMW 3 Series to match or outperform models fitted with the standard six-speed manual gearbox in terms of fuel economy. The new 8-speed automatic brings together shift comfort, dynamic performance and efficiency of the highest order, making it the perfect partner for the new sedan’s dynamic potential.

Safety and Security

The new BMW 3 Series offers its passengers exceptional active and passive safety. Judicious selection of materials, a high-strength structure and an intelligent lightweight design concept allow the body to meet the most exacting standards, and it teams up with highly efficient restraint systems to provide maximum occupant protection. At the same time, the lightweight construction of the new BMW 3 Series makes a significant contribution to the efficiency and agility of the new sports sedan.

A selection of electronic assistance systems make an active contribution to driving safety in the new BMW 3 Series, helping drivers to avoid collisions in the first place. The stand-out features include daytime running lights, Adaptive Headlights with variable light distribution and anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant, dynamic brake lights, a rear view camera, the Lane Departure Warning System including Collision Warning, the Lane Change Warning System and Speed Limit Info.

About Chapman BMW

Chapman BMW on Camelback is a new and used Phoenix BMW dealer. Their state-of-the-art BMW dealership features a full inventory of BMW cars and BMW SUVs with real photos featured on their website.

Oh My i! BMW’s Latest 15 minutes of Fame Debuting the new i8 Concept Car, and the New 6 Series…………..

We cant deny the movies that are coming up for release look pretty entertaining, and in my opinion Tom Cruise, fast action, great locations, and two of our very own favorites, being BMW’s of course, Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol is going to be a must see for many. We are even featured in the movie’s trailer, not just the i3 but also the 6 Series so we are feeling quit honored. You can watch the trailer at: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi696687641/

The first cast member of our brand is the The BMW i8 – a sporty, hybrid all-rounder. This screen stealer uses the same electric motor as the i3 (which I will talk about further down the blog), this time mounted over the front axle, in conjunction with a three-cylinder, 220 horsepower gas engine over the rear axle. Combined, you’re looking at a 354 horsepower all-wheel-drive with 550 Nm of torque. The i8 constantly proportions the power between the front and rear drive systems according to how the car is being driven. With a much smaller battery system than the i3, the i8 can only manage around 35 km (20 miles) in fully electric drive mode – but then, that would cover an emission-free commute for the majority of people. The real value of the hybrid system comes with longer range driving, where on the EU cycle, the i8 manages a whopping 104 miles per gallon, and no that is not a typo – I wrote 104MPG. Driven hard, as some of us like to do…. the fuel consumption will double, but don’t forget that the Toyota Prius is advertised as a 50 mpg hybrid and is nowhere near as much fun. Prius Schmius we say! And for the end of my technical details, the i8′s top speed is electronically governed, but this time at a very sporty 155 mph, and will reach 62 mph in a short 5 seconds or less, decent sportscar territory right here, and the car’s entire underbelly is totally enclosed to boost aerodynamic efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Woot Woot look at our BMW Designers getting all futuristic.

And just a little blurb about the BMW i3 as promised: The i3 is a fully-electric city car with an everyday driving range of around 100 miles per charge, making widespread use of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) to keep weight down and tagged the all-electric city slicker acceleration is in the range of 8 seconds to 62 mph, and should be fairly zippy off the line, as it develops 100 percent of its torque from a standstill. Top speed should be around 93 mph. The i3′s large battery pack sits under the floor of the vehicle in a slab that’s protected from crash damage by a number of buffer zones in the structure. As batteries are typically the most expensive part of an electric vehicle, you’d certainly want to protect them. 170 hp electric motor, single-gear drive system and differential are located over the driven rear axle, and there’s room there for an optional range extender – a high efficiency gas engine that putts away and generates electricity to charge the batteries. With the range extender on board, you can roughly double the i3′s range, and fill up at any gas station.

And now for the 2012 BMW 650i Convertible, Co-Star, and personal favorite, I can tell you this: With a sweeping hood, aft-set passenger compartment, long wheelbase and muscular profile embody the hallmark proportions of a BMW Convertible. The new BMW 650i Convertible combines these features with a classic soft-top roof with flying buttress design. Powerfully contoured surfaces of its lines promise the anticipated BMW driving experience. The luxurious ambience of the interior is highlighted by a driver-oriented cockpit which wraps the front and rear passengers in a feeling of aesthetic security. Nowhere is the high-class functionality of the interior underlined more prominently than in the redesigned freestanding 10.2″ Central Display of the standard iDrive control system.

With a V-8 engine with High Precision direct injection and turbocharging. The 4.4-liter V-8 engine develops a maximum 400 hp between 5,500 and 6,400 rpm, and makes peak torque of 450 lb-ft between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm (preliminary). This unique “reverse-flow” engine, whose turbochargers are positioned in the V-area between the cylinder banks, produces an instantaneous and sustained wave of power, making it an energetic delight for the enthusiast driver. Instantaneous power and torque are the stand-out features of the V-8 engine available of the new BMW 650i Convertible. The engine combines sporting character with outstanding smoothness, linear power delivery, and exceptional efficiency. The engine can be paired with either BMW’s new 8-speed Sport Automatic gearbox or BMW’s traditional 6-speed manual transmission, quite popular with our loyal enthusiasts.

The new BMW 650i Convertible hops from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9, and a top speed is of 155 mph. This engine also boasts extraordinary efficiency for a model in its output class.

I could go on about 8-speed Sport Automatic Transmission, Chassis Management and optional Integral Active Steering. The Active Roll Stabilization optional feature, Driving Dynamics Control and two-part rear light clusters. Heated, vertical glass rear window, Freestanding Central Display with flatscreen design. The World debut of new-generation Head-Up Display. Rear-View, Top View, and Side View Cameras. And on and on and on but I wont and there are a lot of sites out there with intricate details on all of the above and more.

While we have inventory on the all new 650i that you can view at www.azbmw.com or come in to the dealership at 830 E Camelback Road for a personal test drive, we will all have to wait with baited breath for the i3 & i8 cars to become available in the scheduled 2014 timeframe!

Thats Right BMW’ers - TOP 5 IN THE WORLD!

Had to Blog about this because really why not! We are proud of our product and with over eleventy thousand and something companies out there to be ranked in the Top Five IN THE WORLD! Why not spread the word a little wider.

This just in: NEW YORK, June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Google and Apple share the top spot in a study of the world’s most reputable companies conducted by Reputation Institute. Disney, BMW, and LEGO round out the top five in the 2011 Global RepTrak™ 100, a consumer study developed by Reputation Institute to assess the reputations of 100 of the world’s most prominent companies. The study provides an assessment of the global reputation landscape—the companies that are most liked, trusted, and respected by over 48,000 consumers across 15 countries.

“To build a strong reputation on a global level requires a broad platform that covers all seven dimensions of reputation, including Products & Services, Innovation, Workplace, Governance, Citizenship, Leadership, and Performance,” says Reputation Institute Executive Partner Nicolas Georges Trad. “Companies need to integrate reputation management into the way they do business.” A second key finding of the study is that companies generate tangible benefits from building strong emotional bonds with consumers. Across the 15 largest countries in the world, companies with strong reputations receive, on average, three times the support of their less reputable competition.

The Impressive Details: About the Global RepTrak™ 100 Study

In January 2011, Reputation Institute measured the reputations of more than 1,000 of the world’s largest companies in their home countries. The highest rated companies across 41 countries were then selected as candidates for a second study that rated these companies provided they had above average home country reputations and a global footprint. The outcome of the first study was a roster of 100 companies—The Global RepTrak™ 100—that are well regarded at home and are exporting their reputations around the world.

In April 2011, online consumers were invited to rate the Global RepTrak™ 100 in each of 15 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States. Each respondent rated a maximum of five randomly assigned companies from the list with which they were somewhat or very familiar with, using Reputation Institute’s standardized RepTrak™ Pulse methodology. In interpreting results, all RepTrak™ Pulse scores that differ by more than +/-0.5 are significantly different at a 95% confidence level.
