BMW

For a new purchaser of a BMW, the experience of owning one of the best automobiles on the road can be delightfully overwhelming.  The plethora of amazing features on your new (or not-so-new) BMW can only provide “The Ultimate Driving Experience” if you know how to use them.  Chapman BMW on Camelback can help!

On November 10th (and the second Saturday of every month thereafter), Chapman BMW on Camelback is holding a clinic for new BMW owners.  The clinic, provided by sales and management staff, will include responses and explanations to popular BMW ownership topics.

Discussion topics will include general tips and hints for operating your new BMW, explanations of maintenance intervals and unique considerations to keep in mind when caring for your vehicle, as well as warranty information, service appointments, and more.  Each clinic includes a tour of the state-of-the-art new BMW Phoenix facility on Camelback, after which sales, management, and service staff will be available to answer any questions you might have about your BMW.

The clinic is open to new owners of BMW vehicles, whether they were purchased at Chapman BMW on Camelback or elsewhere.  Whether you purchased your BMW last week, last month, or within the last few years, you are invited to attend and to take advantage of this one-of-a-kind learning experience.  If that’s not enough to convince you, then you may be interested to know that a $500 BMW gift certificate good toward parts and accessories for your new automobile will be raffled off at the event.  Food and drinks will also be served.

To learn more about the new owner clinic (or to become a new owner, yourself!), contact your Phoenix BMW dealer, Chapman BMW on Camelback.  Speak with Vida Wilson by phone at (480) 309-4907, or by email at vidawilson@chapmanchoice.com.

BMW 6 Series

Never a company willing to grow complacent, BMW has introduced a number of improvements to its popular BMW 6 Series models for the 2013 model year.

First, BMW’s frankly unintuitive model numbering system can be somewhat confusing.  Should you visit the BMW dealer, the 6 Series models you will find there include the 640i Coupé, the 640i Gran Coupé, and the 640i Convertible.  The 650i and 650i xDrive monikers are given to premium trim levels of the prior mentioned models.  The M6 and M6 Convertible are also built on the same platform at the rest of the 6 Series while offering sportier tuning than the 640i and 650i.

In terms of new features, the most obvious change to the 6 Series is the addition of the 640i/650i Gran Coupé.  Touted by BMW as “four-door coupé,” the Gran Coupé incorporates a longer wheelbase and larger interior with the standard Coupé’s elegant blend of power and luxury.

The 640i Gran Coupé is powered by a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine which produces 315 horsepower and 330 lb/ft of torque, while the 650i’s power plant is a massive 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that cranks out 445 horsepower and an eye-opening 480 lb/ft of torque.  Needless to say, the Gran Coupé has power in spades.

Although the switch to a longer wheelbase and the addition of two doors and two seats adds significant weight to the car, Car and Driver reports that the Gran Coupé’s adjustable chassis and electric power steering (hydraulic in the 650i xDrive version) mask the extra mass admirably.

The Gran Coupé’s luxurious interior is wrapped in a new, sleek sheet metal which is done no justice by pictures.  Interior features include top-of-the-line creature comforts, from touch screen navigation and active cruise control all the way down to the smooth leather seats that are instantly recognizable for their BMW quality and styling.  Adaptive LED headlights, five cameras, brake assist, and automatic stop/start features are a few of many safety features included to ensure that the driver is always in control.
